The Prime Minister, known for his engaging social media presence, posted photos on January 4, expressing his awe at the „stunning beauty“ of the islands and the „incredible warmth“ of its people.

In one notable image, PM Modi was seen donning a life jacket, immersing himself in the island’s rich marine life through snorkeling. The images quickly went viral, capturing the essence of the Prime Minister’s „exhilarating experience.“

During his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects exceeding ₹1,150 crore in Agatti. Notable projects include the inauguration of the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC), aimed at enhancing internet connectivity, and the Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plant at Kadmat, producing 1.5 lakh litres of clean drinking water daily.

Additionally, the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) initiative in Agatti and Minicoy islands aims to provide access to clean water in every household.
