49ers Land Star Pass Rusher in Shocking Trade with Eagles!

By Babita Singh

The San Francisco 49ers traded a conditional 2026 fifth-round draft pick to the Eagles for defensive end Bryce Huff.

Huff had a disappointing 2024 season in Philadelphia, recording only 2.5 sacks across 12 games.

San Francisco sees potential value in Huff due to his past success under current defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Huff’s best performance came in 2023 with the Jets, when he recorded a career-high 10 sacks.

Despite signing a three-year contract with the Eagles, Huff's deal presents the 49ers with only a minimal one-year financial commitment.

The 49ers are set to absorb a $7.95 million salary cap hit for Huff in 2025, which fits comfortably within their $53 million in cap space.

Huff’s 2026 salary is slated at $17 million, but the 49ers can easily release him before then without long-term financial consequences.

The team views the trade as a low-risk move with potential for a high return if Huff can revitalize his performance.

If Huff performs well, the 49ers could consider extending his contract or trading him next offseason for further value.
